Just like Hazard, Götze is pure class.

University Of Michigan State Football Schedule 2012

Fourteen to 15 different schedules were re-tooled by an SEC transition team, conference consultant Larry Templeton said. New Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze will be welcomed into the SEC with arguably the toughest schedule in the conference. Ten of Ole Miss' FBS opponents reached a bowl game this season, including non-conference opponent Texas.

Ole Miss is the final SEC team to open the SEC season on Sept. 29, when the Rebels travel to Alabama. Ole Miss' open date is Oct. 20.

State travels to Alabama, LSU and Ole Miss.

MSU's open date is Sept. 29.

Each SEC team will play six divisional games and two opponents from the opposite division.
Texas A&M will join the SEC's Western Division and Missouri will join the East.
"The difficulty was that everybody had to play, by NCAA rule, their six divisional games," Templeton said. The SEC, at one point, asked MSU if it could move the game to November.
"The transition team did not get into scheduling non-conference teams."

It's time to deviate from your regularly scheduled programming of bowl previews to talk a little bit about one of the most intriguing bowls on the slate this year, the Outback Bowl. We shot some questions to Jim of A Beautiful Day for Football to get the pulse of the Michigan State Spartans going into this game. Make sure you check out their site as Jim and Ty (from The Lions of Winter) do a solid job covering Sparty. Jim hasn't seen a lot of Georgia this year but he did sit down and watch a bit of the Georgia/Florida game from earlier this year and had some interesting observations. CFBZ: The recent bowl history for the Spartans is rough. Since beating Fresno State in 2001, they've dropped five straight. Is this something to be concerned about or does it serve as more of a motivator for this team?

Spartan BDF:  Hm.... I'm actually not sure it's either. I am of the thread that Mark Dantonio has overachieved greatly in his first five years at MSU. The 2008 squad that played Georgia in the 2009 Citrus Bowl finished 9-3 in the regular season and I am convinced was among the weakest 9-3 teams that year and then went on to play the first pick in the draft. In 2007, the Spartans unexpectedly went 7-5 and then had to play Matt Ryan in the Champs Sports Bowl. In 2009, when MSU finished 6-6 and snuck into the Alamo Bowl, they spent the first five games of the season flipping back and forth between Nichol and Cousins at QB and that directly cost them at least one game and possibly another. So while they didn't overachieve that year, then Glenn Winston lead the Fight Part Two and got pretty much our whole WR corps suspended for the bowl game. MSU still managed to keep it close with TTU. In 2010, they were beneficiaries of a schedule that had them play their first seven games in Michigan.

That the last game of the high-school football season should be played in Texas seems only fitting, given “Friday Night Lights” and the state’s longstanding reputation for amateur-football obsession. Last winter, Gatorade named Don Bosco’s Jabrill Peppers the nation’s top freshman. While reporting my story about Don Bosco’s quest for a second national championship this year, I spoke with the father of a freshman quarterback in Delaware, David Sills V. ( Look for him in the All-American Bowl in 2015.) A few months earlier, thanks in part to generous financial contributions from David Sills IV, the Red Lion middle school team had flown across the country for a couple of games against California schools. Red Lion’s varsity high school team now plays a schedule composed exclusively of games against schools outside of Delaware.

Oklahoma State finished third in the Harris and BCS standings, just missing a chance to play LSU for the national title. Houston finished 17th in the overall Harris voting, having not beaten any teams that were in the top 25 all season.
One unlikely star has emerged from the latest BCS disaster: Harris Poll voter George Wine, who ranked the Big 12 champion Oklahoma St. Cowboys No. 6, behind the Conference USA runner-up Houston Cougars. Wine, an 80-year-old former Iowa Hawkeyes sports information director, tells TampaBay.com's Greg Auman "the BCS is just a mess," "college football is crying for a playoff system," and "voting is subjective and often arbitrary." Outstanding!
